About Patricia PaulkEver since I was a little girl, I’ve understood how important it is to make your house your own. My dad was military, and my mother was fabulous in making a beautiful home for us each time we moved, and sometimes that was once a year. Learning how to create a place that would be your nest was a wonderful lesson I learned from her. She also taught me the value and skill of making quick decisions. As we grew up, my mother took us to lovely places – antebellum homes, Williamsburg, Newport, Biltmore House in Asheville – places with a sense of history. I grew to love antiques and developed a sense of style. When I married, I took those skills and created a little haven for my son and daughter. I majored in English literature, and owned a gallery in Atlanta, but it was the great pleasure I found in helping friends with their homes that helped me decide to focus on interiors. I began taking classes in design, and soon formed Patricia Paulk Interiors, a venture which has brought me great pleasure. Over the years, I’ve gained much personal satisfaction as well from giving back to the community, whether through setting up donation programs for needy children, or serving as a board member for the Salvation Army. I’ve been a member of the Junior League and served on the organizing committee for the Susan Komen Pink Tie Ball.
